Happy 4th - 2009

Happy 4th of July !

I am so grateful for all our Brave Men and Women serving in Iraq as well as other areas in the world ~ Thank you for protecting our FREEDOM !

The kids are out of school now as of last Thursday. Lacey will be starting Junior High as a 7th grader at Hunter Jr. High when she goes back to school in August and Cam will return at the end of this month as a 5th Grader. He is looking forward to being the only Paschall at Valley Crest at not having all of Lacey's friends scream out his name and give him hugs. Honestly I think he will miss them.

Mike got the boat out yesterday, checked out everything, made a couple of small repairs and cleaned it up. We are hoping to have it in the water in a couple of weeks.

Lacey will be at Girls camp all next week and Cam and I have plans to see movies, go to Hollywood Connection and the Centennial Park pool.

Next Month is Cruefest 2 and the Walk to Cure Diabetes at Wheeler Farm.
If you have made a Donation to JDRF ~ Thank you very much. I have had so much going on that I have not gotten Thank you cards out, but please know that we are very grateful !
I have tons of inventory and plan to have a fundraiser ~ I just need to set a date.

I hope you all have a fun and safe 4th of July !

Cameron has Swine Flu

Wednesday Cam woke up and said he was feeling achy all over. I kept him home from school but wasn't to concerned because he didn't seem terribly sick. He sat up all day playing computer games and watching TV. By the afternoon he seemed to be slowing down and started to run a fever. That bothered me a bit knowing that Swine flu causes a fever to come on quick and also knowing that it has not been a big deal for people with "regular" immune systems and that others with underlying problems were the ones having the most problems and even causing deaths.
I gave him some tylenol and told him to lay down and rest, his fever was 100. A couple hours later when I checked him again he was up to 101. I was starting to feel a bit more nervous but kept thinking maybe I was just being paranoid. He got up to 102.5 and I gave him some more tylenol. A couple more hours passed and he was 102.9, I decided I could no longer ignore that nagging feeling of dread in the back of my mind. We left about 10pm for Primary Children's and when we got there the Emergency room was packed with sick kids. My first thought was "we better find a comfortable spot to sit we are going to be here awhile". They called us up quickly to check his vitals and get a bit of info and then we went back to our seats. I was shocked when they called us back after only about 5 min. That scared me ! I know that they see patients in order of importance and they did not take us to an exam room, they put us in a trauma room. Now I was getting worried that my worst fears were coming true.
Before the Dr. even came over nurses were getting an IV ready and putting patches on his chest that hooked up to a machine. Once the Dr. came over he told us they were concerned because of his rapid heartbeat * 145 * which should have been around * 100* They needed to hydrate him and try to get his fever down to try and lower his heart rate. Then what we were afraid of, they were going to test him for swine flu. What an awful test, they put a bunch of saline up his nose and he was sreaming "I can't breathe" then they put tubes up his nose and started sunctioning. He was screaming out of pain and panic as I held his hand and quietly cried and Mike tried to hold his head still. Once that was over they told us we wouldn't get results til tomorrow. Now it was the waiting game. Why do these things always happen at the end of a long day ? By about 2 am his fever was starting to break but now he was vomiting so the Dr. wanted to continue to stay there. He started talking about keeping him for observation. By 3 am he was still vomiting but his fever had not come back so he gave the option to watch him at home and see our Dr later in the day or watch him in the observation area. We decided he would be more comfy at home so we finally left about 3:45. He continued vomiting and his fever came back..... To be continued later.

Uncle Bob

My Uncle Bob passed away Monday after a short battle with Cancer. He will be missed by many. I am so Thankful for the time we spent with him last year in Mesquite Nevada and Brianhead Utah. We will always remember his quick wit Fondly. We were supposed to be with him again this summer in California and I'm sure as we gather with family he will be there smiling over us.

Felt CHicks

I am so excited that I have another ETSY store now ! It's almost up and running ~ YAY
For about a month now I really have not been feeling to well (Gallstone issues) I have rarely been up to sitting in my studio and working with clay, so I have been going a bit crazy. Anybody that has spent any time with me knows I love all kinds of crafts and have tried many.
I needed to think of something I could do to pass the time since I am no good and just sitting and watching TV or even just sitting still, so I started making things with felt and they turned out really cute. My partner in Crime (Jade) ...I mean crafts will be joining me soon, making Felt creations for the Felt Chicks store. I am making snap clips, headbands, keychains and more with them. I have checked out what others are doing on ETSY with Felt and there is tons competition with this type of item, so hopefully mine (and Jades)will be good enough to stand out and attract buyers. If not I guess we will just have a bunch of cute felt items to give out as Gifts ~ LOL

Live Life to the Fullest

I was saddened today when the kids got out of school and told me that Cam's reading teacher Mrs. Crofts passed away this past Friday Suddenly and Unexpectedly. She was only 55 years young and will be missed by all those that knew her.

I think we all need to be reminded to live every day as if it could be your last and NEVER Sweat the Small stuff (I Don't)! Life is way to short.

Had a Good Cry Lately ?

I had a good cry last night, at the end of the movie 7 pounds. If you enjoy a great story ending with a good sob be sure and watch this one. It stars Will Smith and Rosario Dawson.

Need another good tearjerker to add to the list ? Nights is Rodanthe is another must see. I really didn't know anything about this movie when I started watching it, but knew I wanted to see it because I loved the Stars ~ Richard Gere and Diane Lane. By the end of the movie I was sobbing, not just a few tears rolling downing my cheeks but honest to goodess crying.

If you are done with the tissues and just want to see a cute movie that's kind of silly I recommend Bedtime Stories with Adam Sandler. I bought this one and my family and I have watched it a few times already in the last month.

So far so Good.....

I am happy with my decision to re~open my ETSY store. In less than a week I have sold 2 items and I am pretty happy about that : ) I forgot just how quick and easy the listing process was, due to a far more simple layout. Another plus is definitely the cost to list !

I just listed(on ETSY) a M2MG (Made to match Gymboree) Jungle Gem Polymer clay Dog tag. I have not made any of these in awhile but was inspired by their latest line because the monkey is so darn cute. I think it turned out pretty cute.

My Etsy Store

Due to my annoyance with Ebay, I decided to re ~ open my Etsy store. Selling on 2 different sites had gotten to be to much for me about a year or so ago and I went back to strictly selling on Ebay. Besides my Ebay annoyance I have recently noticed that more and more people are becoming familiar with Etsy. When I had first started with them very few people had ever heard of it. Hopefully I will be as successful this time around as I had been before ! FYI my stores name is KBCC/Kellee's Beaded and Clay Creations. You can check it out by clicking on "My Etsy Store" or with the link on the right side of the page.

Annoyed by Ebay Sellers

I am so annoyed this morning to see that my Twilight bracelet listing was pulled from Ebay. This means some other jealous Ebayer turned me in for using the words Twilight * Edward * Bella in my listing. This is not the first time this has happened to me and I'm sure it won't be the last. I just can't imagine someone so worried about competition that spends their time getting other listings pulled. Some people have way to much time on their hands ! Well I guess I will go edit my listing now .....

Chances are if you are not a Twilight fan you know someone who is. Due to the popularity of the books and movies I decided to create a Twilight movie themed charm braclet. I then added pewter charms and Sparkling Swarovski Crystals. It is Truly a OOAK/One of a Kind.

Lucky Ladybug Lanyard/ID Badge Holder

I just listed this fun Lanyard today. I love making these but don't make them as often as I used to because I don't purchase as many beads as I once did. Now that Spring is here I was in the mood to make some Ladybugs and once they were finished I knew I had to make this. I even made a matching ring to go along with it. If you want like to see more pics it's listed on Ebay, just search KBCC.
